Whorley II, James Allen

James Allen Whorley, II, age 56, passed away on Tuesday, December 6. 2022, at the Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg, VA. He was born April 14, 1966, in Roanoke, VA.

While attending Peterstown High School, Allen developed an avid interest in computers, which became his livelihood. He was employed in Information Technology, most recently for the Federal Food and Drug Administration.

Allen loved to cook and was quite talented in the kitchen, often catering weddings and other social functions. He collected vintage cookbooks and loved preparing new recipes for family and friends.

Allen is preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Guinn. Left to cherish his memory is his wife and lifelong companion, Kerri Evans of Peterstown, WV; his parents, James “Jim” and Joan Whorley of Peterstown, WV; brothers, Mark Whorley and wife Yoko of Milton, FL, and Greg Whorley of Portland, OR; sisters, Tiffany Guinn of Columbus, OH, and Greta Dunn and husband Billy of Farmville, VA; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Additionally, his beloved dog, Pierce, and wife will miss him dearly.

In keeping with Allen’s wishes, he will be cremated. A gathering for family and friends to celebrate his life will be held from 12:30PM until 2:00PM on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the Cashmere Baptist Church Fellowship Hall (130 Woodson Road, Ballard, WV 24918).
