Whorley, Douglas Rogers

Douglas Rogers Whorley, Sr. 67 of Roanoke passed away Wednesday April 8, 2009. Preceded in death by his parents Grattion & Virginia Paige Whorley; Son Cleo Whorley; Brothers:Ed, Arthur “Art”, Eugene, John, & Charles “Rutt” Whorley.

Survivors include Children: Andre Whorley, Timothy Taplin, Tanya Whorley, Sonya Whorley, Douglas Whorley, Jr., Latoya Whorley, and Gerren Whorley; 17 grandchildren; 5 Great grandchildren;Sisters Dora Hunt and Claris Webb; Brothers: David Whorley, Harry Whorley, and Allen Whorley; A host of aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday April 14, 2009 at the Bent Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Wallis Brown officiating. Interment to follow in The Pines Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
