David Whorley Jr., 75, of Bent Mountain, Va., entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 16, 2009. He was preceded in death by one son, Larry (Smitty) Whorley Jr.; parents, Gratton and Virginia (Ginny) Whorley; and six brothers, John, Eugene, Arthur (Art), Ed, Charles Russell (Rutt), and Douglas (Doug) Whorley. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Roxie Whorley; two daughters, Charlene and husband, Rochevious Nance, and Edna (Susie) Whorley; two sons, Martin (Guy) and wife, Dana Whorley, and Christopher (Chris) Whorley; two sisters, Claris and husband, Manuel Webb, and Dora Hunt; two brothers, Roosevelt Whorley, and Allen Truman and wife, Hazel Whorley; one aunt, Fannie Webb; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2009, at the Bent Mountain Baptist Church with the Rev. Wallace Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Webb Cemetery.
