White, Roberta Spiegel

Roberta (Bobbie) Lou Spiegel White, 78, of Dublin, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2015. Bobbie was born on December 24, 1936 to the late Robert Lemoine and Edith Weber Spiegel.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty six years, Ervin Wayne White; her step-father, Wayne Roston; her daughter, Sharon Ruth White; and a sister, Pamela Roston.

She is survived by her daughters, Gwyn (David) R. Ferguson, Rebecca “Becky” (Joseph) L. Odum, and Melanie (Robert) F. Lowe; her sisters, Nancy (Lee) Bachelder and Janet K. Myers; her brother, Jan Roston; her grandchildren, Shannan (Daniel) Odum Mills, Amanda Odum, Erin Cabrera, William Dowdy III, Melissa Ferguson, Thomas Dowdy, and Jessica Dowdy; four great-grandchildren; and a close family friend, Michelle Smail.

Bobbie was a librarian for over 40 years with New River Community College, retiring in 2003 as the Coordinator of Library Services but continued to work part time until 2015. She was an active and faithful member of First Baptist Church in Radford since 1960 and frequently played the piano for their services. Active in her community, she held membership in Sweet Adelines International and the New River Valley Symphony Orchestra. She loved reading, sewing, and most of all her cats, Cori and Pretty Girl.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at DeVilbiss Funeral Home on Saturday July 11, 2015. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday July 12, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Radford with the Reverend Kent Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at West View Cemetery in Radford.
