Mr. Mark Douglas White, 47, of Blacksburg, Virginia, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2010, near Bandy, Virginia following a sudden illness. He was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the son of Lillie Altizer White, of Bandy, Virginia and the late Charles Douglas White.

He had made his home in the Blacksburg, Virginia area for the past 24 years and was a self employed farmer. He was a graduate of Richlands High School Class of 1981 and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1986. He was a member of the Winchester Hunt Club and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Stephanie Walton White; one son, Mark Douglas White II ,of the home; one sister, Lesa Artrip and husband, Dwane, of Jewell Ridge, Virginia; one brother, Jeff White and wife, Angie, of Jewell Ridge, Virginia.

Memorial services for Mark Douglas White will be conducted Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at 8 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Steve Tegler officiating. Friends may call after 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
