Lalah Hylton White, 94, of Woodford, Va., and formerly of Pulaski, Va., died early Friday morning, May 8, 2009, in Woodmont Nursing Home, Fredericksburg, Va. She was born in Pulaski on December 17, 1914, and was the daughter of the late John F. Hylton and Suzanne Phillips Hylton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Straley White; and a daughter, Ann Gillispie.

She so enjoyed working in her flower gardens and singing. She was a member of the Thornspring United Methodist Church, Pulaski County.

Surviving are her grandchildren, Debbie Gillispie, of Woodford, Va., Tammy Chewning and her husband, Steve, of Woodford, Va., Rhonda Aleshire and her husband, Trenton, of Mineral, Va., and Ronnie Gillispie, of Lebanon, Ohio; five greatgrandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild; and sister, Louise H. Robertson, of Pulaski, Va.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, from the Thornspring Cemetery, Pulaski County with the Rev. Don Sizemore officiating.
