White, Katherine Brown

Katherine (Katie) Brown White, 65, of 4632 Thaxton Road, Pulaski, Virginia, departed this life on Thursday, January 26, 2008 in Roanoke, Virginia.

She was born on October 22, 1942 in Iredell County North Carolina, the daughter of the late Clarence Brown and Eleanor B. Kesiser. Katie was a faithful member of the Randolph Ave. United Methodist Church, Pulaski, where she served in many capacities. She attended the public schools in Pulaski County and Christiansburg Institute in Montgomery County. She was a former employee of Hercules Inc. of Pulaski, Va.

Katie was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis. (June) V. White and four brothers, Ben, Robert, Robert and Tennis Brown. She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Wanda (Clyde) Prim of Pulaski, Va., Elizabeth (Brent) Phillips of Tulsa, Okla. and Ruth White of Pulaski, Va.; three grandchildren, Clyde Jr., Katie and Samantha Prim; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Arlena Smith; one brother, Clarence Brown, both of North Carolina; and a very close and devoted friend, Ella (Doll) Roberts of Dublin, Va.

A funeral service will be Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Randolph Ave. United Methodist Church Pulaski, Va., with the Rev. Leroy Henry officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, January 29, 2008, from 7 until 9 p.m. at Randolph Ave. United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Pinehurst Cemetery, Pulaski, VA.
