White, Iva Jean Hudson
Iva Jean Hudson White, 71, of Pearisburg, Va., fought a courageous battle and went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 22, 2009, at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville. She is now at peace.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Polly Albert Hudson; and six brothers, Buddy, Ellis, Brownie, Chapman, Pat, and Arnold. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved and devoted companion of almost 40 years, Charlie Kanode; and her loving children, Kim Cumbee and Mike Price, of Pearisburg, Tina and Kelly Munsey, of Pembroke, Bruce White of Pearisburg, Rodney and Stacy White, of Newport, and Keith White, of Pearisburg. Bringing much joy to her life were her grandchildren, Travis Pentasuglia, Tera Cline, Seanna White, Carly White, Latesha Carbaugh, and Dru Munsey; and one great-grandchild, Sarah Long. She is also survived by one brother, Roland Hudson, of Narrows; one sister, Juanita Croy, of Pearisburg; and three sisters-in-law, Jerry Hudson Marcelynas, Frances Hudson, and Juanita Hudson. She also leaves a multitude of loving nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2009, in the Mountain View United Methodist Church on Guinea Mountain, Pearisburg with Pastors Ronnie Duncan and Eddie Kendall officiating. The family will greet friends immediately after the services. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Jean’s name to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, N.Y. 10016.
