Whitaker, Fred Lee

Fred Lee Whitaker, age 78 of Pulaski, died Sunday August 13, 2006 in the Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Wright Whitaker.

He is survived by three sons: step-son, Roger Melton and his wife Barbara of New Albany, Indiana, David Whitaker of Pulaski, and Eddie Whitaker and his wife Shannon of Pulaski: one step-daughter; Linda Melton and her special friend James Fritz of Pulaski: one daughter; Carolyn Sayers of Pulaski. Granddaughters; Stephanie Whitaker of Denton, N.C., Michelle Sayers of Pulaski, Barbie Whitaker of Pulaski: grandsons; Jason and Ryan Whitaker of Pulaski: two half brothers; Richard and Roy Harlow of S.C.: a half-sister; Ruby Harlow of S.C.

Funeral services will be held Thursday August 17, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons with the Rev. Vickie Akers officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. Visiting will be anytime Wednesday after 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
