Barbara Bishop Whitaker, 73, of Radford, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017.

She was retired from Aspen Technologies. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hampton Whitaker; infant daughter; parents, Oakley and Mamie Bishop; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Steve Cromer of Dublin; sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Kay Whitaker of Radford, and Johnny and Jackie Whitaker of Belspring; grandchildren, John David, Christa, Rebecca, Trevor, Melody, Connor, Kendrick and Stevie; brothers, Bobby, Jim and Frankie Bishop; sisters, Sissy Buggs, Patsy Young and Trish Tinley; special sister-in-law, Anna Kirk; and many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Doug Testerman and Pastor Shake Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Burial Park in Radford.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
