Wheeling, Barbara Blount

Barbara Blount Wheeling, age 82, of Christiansburg, made her journey to be with her Lord, surrounded by her family, who so loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Wheeling; mother, Margaret Blount; aunt, Mary Blount; brother, John “Butch” Blount; grandson, Joseph Paul “JP” Fisher.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Linda Kinzer, Brenda Fisher, Gail Custer (Darrell), Vicki Akers (Lindsey); son, Stephen Wheeling (Amanda); grandchildren, Jonathan Custer (Ashley), Jamie Hazzard (Correy), Shane Akers, Allison Akers (Adam); numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Charlotte Hungate and her family; family friend (5th daughter), Jackie Cox; special furry child, Sophie (the light of her life).

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amedisys Palliative Care for their kind and loving care.

To celebrate Barbara’s life, a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Dudley Cemetery in Fagg, VA with Rev. Lee Sarver officiating.
