amem_gardening_tools.jpgRandall Terrell Wheeler, 86, of Narrows, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 4, 2010, at his home on Wolf Creek. A lifelong resident of Giles County, he was born on June 14, 1924, and was the son of the late Egbert Terrell and Ethel Lee Wilburn Wheeler. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Georgie Turner; and a brother, Allen Wheeler.

A faithful member of Kathleen Memorial United Methodist Church, Randall was an avid Virginia Tech and Washington Redskins fan. He also loved spending time with his nephews and nieces, as well as gardening.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Louise Thornton Wheeler; two sisters, Marie Conley, and Shirley Parcell and husband, Roy; seven brothers, Bill Wheeler and wife, Mary, Curtis Wheeler and wife, Juanita, Harold Wheeler and wife, Judy, Perry Wheeler, Robert Wheeler and wife, Anna, Charlie Wheeler and wife, Connie, and Roger Wheeler; a special sister-in-law, Doris Hyatt, all of Narrows; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and many special friends.

Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, in the chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with Pastor Patrick Wheeler and the Rev. Leon O’Quinn officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Chapel on Tuesday from noon until just prior to the service.
