whaling_sally_ann12/14/1939 ~ 5/23/2011 GOD has called another of his angels, Sally Ann Whaling, of Christiansburg, home to Heaven. Sally went to be with her Lord early in the morning of Monday May 23, 2011. Sally lived in Northfork, W.Va., from 1939 until 1986. Just like her husband, Fred, even though she had lived in Virginia since 1986, her heart remained in West Virginia. Sally was preceded in death by her son, Richard Whaling; husband, Fred Whaling; mother, Vivian Kemp; father, Clarence Kemp; two sisters, Magdalene and Betty; and one brother, Kermit. Sally is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Whaling, of Blacksburg, Va.; son, Daniel Whaling, of Christiansburg, Va.; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Terri Whaling, of Christiansburg, Va., and Ronnie Whaling, of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Shawna and Zak Miller, of Napa, Calif.; and brother, Harry from South Carolina. Sally was a caring and giving person not only to her family but also to anyone she met. If someone needed something and Sally had it, it was theirs. She always loved the color pink and angels. Her family takes comfort in knowing that as she reunites with her son, Ricky, and husband, Fred, and the rest of her family and friends, she is the only angel in heaven dressed in PINK! Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home, Bluefield, W.Va., on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, from 1 to 3 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 3 p.m. with the Rev.
