Werner, Bobby Joe
Bobby Joe Werner, 78, formerly of Christiansburg, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2015. Bobby was born on June 26, 1937 to the late Alfred Joseph and Ruby Short Werner.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Alfred K. Werner and a sister, Margaret J. Kesterson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Carolyn Werner; his daughters, Cynthia (Robert) Werner, Karen W. (Cristian) Martinez, and Bobbie W. (Mike) Page; his grandchildren, Nick and Dylan Martinez and Katelyn and Victoria Page; a brother, Melvin D. Werner; his sisters, Anita W. (Samuel) Stuart and Debbie W. (Dean) Young; his aunt, Anita Ingle; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his special fur baby, Henrietta.
Bobby retired from Radford University where he worked for nearly 30 years as a boiler technician in the maintenance department. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday September 16, 2015 at DeVilbiss Funeral Home with a short funeral service to follow directly after with Reverend Russell Gordon officiating. Interment will be held at a later date and will be private.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that those desiring make memorial contributions to the New River Valley Carilion Clinic Hospice, 707 Randolph Street, Ste 251, Radford, VA 24141.

I have known Bobby & all of his family since the fifties. We went to school togather & also he lived on the hill from the old “Burke’s Store” & we lived on the other hill across the road. I’m sure all would remember my brother Johnny Billings (deceased) as if I remember correctly they sure got in a lot of trouble togather.
