Sue Lawson Weeks, 68, of Floyd, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior surrounded by her loving family Wednesday December 25, 2013. She was born January 6, 1945 to the late William Floyd and Malinda Gay Lawson. She fought a sixteen year battle with Pick’s disease.

Sue was a member of Floyd Baptist Church where she was very active and loved her church. She was a hairdresser in Floyd for over 30 years. She loved her customers like they were family.

Family left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 51 years Johnny, her loving daughters and sons-in law, Wanda and Steve McAlexander of Floyd, Lorie and Mark Miracle, of Harlan, Ky.; her grandchildren she absolutely adored, Ashlee (Chris) Olinger, Kayla McAlexander, Joshua McAlexander and his fiancée Kendra Smith, and Adam Miracle; stepgranddaughter, Jamison Miracle of Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Eli and Peyton Olinger; stepgreat- grandchildren, Bentley Smith and Callie Creech of Tenn.; two very special sisters-in-law, Peggy Howell and Pauline Repass; also a large extended family and a host of friends.

We would like to extend appreciation to her caregivers Lona Sowers, Shirley Marshall, and Angie Manning. Special thanks to Dr. Mogan and his nurse Nita at the Carilion Clinic. Special thanks to all the nurses at the Carilion New River Valley Medical Center-Medical Care Suite for all your special care during those last days. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday December 28, 2013 at The Floyd Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Agee officiating with Interment to follow at Jacksonville Cemetery.
