Weeks, Moir Curtis
Moir Curtis Weeks, 99, of Roanoke, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2007. Born on August 14, 1907 in Floyd, Va., he was the son of the late Esper Rose Weeks and Emma Harmon Weeks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Lenora Mantz Weeks. He is survived by his sister, Renva Knowles of Christiansburg; special friends, Gene and Sue Fulcher and Claude and Oreta Yelton; a very caring neighbor, Kathleen Pangburn; and many other cousins and friends.
Mr. Weeks was a retired employee of the Radford Army Ammunition Plant with thirty-three years of service. He served in the United States Army during the World War II era and for a total of three and one-half years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Member of Taylor Masonic Lodge #23, Scottish Rite Shrine and Shrine Club, Salem Chapter #161 O.E.S., and Past Patron of the Salem Chapter #161 O.E.S.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 10, 2007 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Westview Cemetery in Radford. The Rev. Dave Vanderpool will officiate.
