Weeks, Lawrence D.

Lawrence D. Weeks, 79, of Manassas returned to be with the Lord on Friday, July 20, 2007. He was born March 10, 1928 in Floyd, Va. to Albert and Charlotte Weeks.

He was a kind and gentle soul who will be deeply missed by all who came to know of his sense of humor, grace and care for others. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, watching NASCAR and baseball, and cheering for his favorite football team, the Washington Redskins.

Lawrence is survived by his cherished grandchildren, Billy Barr and Evelyn Weeks, both of Manassas. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 29 years, Ruth Weeks and his brother Adrian Weeks.

A Memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2007 at the Faith Baptist Church in Bealeton, Va. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, Va. with Pastor Leo DeLorge officiating with burial in Beaver Creek Cemetery, Floyd. Visitation one hour prior to funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Grandpa Weeks Memorial Fund at Patriot Bank, Sudley Road in Manassas, Va. Grandpa, we will miss you terribly, but we know you will always watch over us and we will be together with you again, We love you.
