Billy Clyde Weeks, 65, of Willis, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at his home.

He was born January 29, 1941 in Floyd County, Virginia, son of the late Elbert Julian and Minnie Hylton Weeks. He was also predeceased by his brother, James Elbert Weeks and a young brother, Henry.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Annette Poff Weeks; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Dina Weeks; daughter and son-in-law, June and Danny Sutphin; three grandsons, Dylan, Logan, and Devan Weeks; three sisters and brother-in-law, Alberta Weeks, Pauline Repass, Peggy and Bobby Howell; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert and Janet Weeks, Johnny and Sue Weeks, and Ruth Weeks.

Billy worked for many years at Skyline Ford, and he also enjoyed working with his brothers at Floyd Tire Center. When his illness forced an early retirement, he continued his love of woodcrafting and made several acoustic instruments through which the music of his spirit will linger on. He lived with a quiet strength and unselfishly gave of his time and talents to those he loved. A special thanks to Dr. Marcia Harris who helped Billy to fight his lengthy illness on his own terms.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006 at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Phillip Bouknight and Pastor Roy Turpin officiating. Burial will follow in Willis Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, April 28, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Maberry Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice.
