Weddle, Lonnie Junior

Lonnie Junior Weddle, 72, husband of Wanda Sutherland Weddle, formerly of Blackburg, VA, died March 25, 2011. A native of Floyd County, VA, he was a son of the late Lonnie V. and Hannah Rittie Dickerson Weddle

He was the owner of Bankers Realty, a member of Morningside Baptist Church, and U.S. Army veteran. A man of God, he was very active in his church and loved being with his family. He was known for his commitment to serving clients and customers throughout his life in both grocery and the real estate business.

His passion in life, however, was meeting every need of his beloved wife, Wanda, who was with him from the time she was 16 years old. He will be greatly missed by all of his family whom he loved to feed, love, and nurture.

Surviving also are three daughters, Karen Weddle Wofford of Radford, VA, Merri Lisa Weddle of Greenville, SC and Nikki Weddle Washer of Greer, SC; one son, Lonnie Garrett Weddle of Draper, VA; one brother, John Earl Weddle of Mount Airy, NC; one sister, Alice Weddle Summers of Galax, VA; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Morningside Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Tony Miller. The graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Olivet Community Cemetery, Woodlawn, VA. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held 1 until 3 p.m. Sunday at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home.
