Webb, William Preston

William (Bill) Preston Webb, 83, of Blacksburg, Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 29, 2009. He was born on November 30, 1925, in Lillybrook, W.Va. to Orin Edward and Amy Alice Webb.

He joins them along with his brothers, Clinton, Ralph, Orin Jr.; and his sisters, Ella Sue Shelor and Mary McConkey. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 52 years, Annie Christine Webb; and his five children, Sandra Mullins, of Charlottesville, Peggy Webb, of Blacksburg, Delores Webb, of Blacksburg, William (Billy) Webb Jr. and wife, Dodie, of Radford, Robert (Timmy) Webb and wife, Dreama, of Blacksburg. Paw-Paw will live on in the hearts of his grandchildren, Jimmy Mullins and wife, Barbee, Whitney Webb, Jennifer Webb, Emily Webb, and Justin Webb.

He also leaves behind brothers and sisters-in-law, special sister-in-law, Mamie Webb, Tom and Marian Cook, Brenda and Frank Kahn, Greg and Rhonda Cook, and Philip Whitehurst, Kitty Cook; special friends, Ludie Wood, Jim Woodward; cousin, Denny Caldwell, along with many beloved nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. He will also be missed greatly by his adored pets, Sophie, Tiger and Callie. Those who knew and loved Bill (Daddy) (Paw-Paw) will always remember his little laugh, his kind heart and the twinkle in his eye.

The family will receive friends from 6 8 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2009, and the funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2009, both at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg. He will be laid to rest at Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. immediately following the service.
