Webb Jr., Ambler White

Ambler White (AW) Webb Jr., 73, of New Castle, departed this life Saturday morning, January 26, 2013 in the care of Heritage Hall and Good Samaritan Hospice in Blacksburg. Born in Roanoke on December 17, 1939, he was a son of the late Ambler W. Sr. and Lillian Christine Sublett Webb.

AW was a 1962 VPI graduate with his degree in mechanical engineering, was a six year veteran of the United States Army Reserve, and worked with the engineering firm OWPR in Blacksburg and for his last ten years of work served as President. As a young man he was baptized in the Huntington Court United Methodist Church in Roanoke and had attended with his wife Bethel United Methodist Church near their home in Craig County.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 38 years, Lois Miller Webb; his brother, Don Webb of Blue Ridge, and a host of friends, relatives; and business associates.

Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with the Rev. Robert Wright and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m.
