Robert (Bob) Hugh Weaver, 80, of Dublin, passed away on April 30, 2014 at Lewis-Gale Pulaski Hospital. Bob was born on September 5, 1933 to the late Howard and Louise Gerald Weaver.

Bob proudly served his country for 23 years aboard the USS North Hampton and the USS Laffey. He retired from the United States Navy in 1974 with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He then served his community as a lieutenant in the Radford police officer for 21 years. After retirement, he was a proud member of the Rockford Methodist Church in Fairlawn.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Shirley Evelyn Weaver; and three brothers, William and Joe Weaver.

He is survived by his son, Dwayne Allen (Karen) Weaver of Dublin; his grandchildren, Eddy, James, and Matt; two brother, David H. and John T. Weaver; his sisters, Alice Akers and Sandra W. Phillips; a nephew, Darrell (Nancy) Ritter; a great-nephew and niece, Steven (Kira) Ritter and Megan (Phillip) Lineberry; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at DeVilbiss Funeral Home Friday May 2, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday May 3, 2014 at DeVilbiss Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Ginny Tompkins and Darlene Marshall officiating. Interment will follow at Rockford Cemetery in Fairlawn.
