Anna Marie Hayes Watson, 79, of 7341 Lillydale Circle, Dublin, Va., died on Wednesday morning, February 11, 2009, in the New River Valley Medical Center, Christiansburg. She was born in Grayson County on January 4, 1930, and was the daughter of the late Charles Lee Hayes and Lula Lewis Hayes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elijah David Watson; by a sister, Mildred Hayes Barker; and by an infant brother.

Mrs. Watson was a charter member of the Pulaski Seventh-Day Adventist Church and an employee of Pulaski County High School. She received her high school diploma at the age of 65 from New River Community College.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Jennena and Donald L. Cressell, of Dublin; grandchildren and spouse, David and Tammy Cressell, of Dublin, and Kevin Cressell and his fiance, Stephanie Webb, of Dublin; special greatgrandbabies, Erika Cressell, of Dublin, and Brea Cressell, of Dublin; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Grant Barker, of Dublin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Mae Hayes, Tom and Minnie Hayes, and Harry and Betty Hayes, all of Dublin; brother-in-law, Allen Barker, of Dublin; brothers-inlaw and sisters-in-law, Glenn and Peggy Watson, of Hillsville, William and Thelma Watson, of Hillsville, Freida Beamer, of Allisonia, and Stella Watson Hayes, of Dublin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2009, from the Stevens Funeral Chapel with Elder Vince MacIssac officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2009, at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Pulaski, Va.
