warner_arvil_leeArvil (Bill) Lee Warner, 91, of Eggleston, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 4, 2010, at the Veterans Hospital in Salem, Va. Mr. Warner was born on August 16, 1919, in Lurich, Va., and was a son of the late Arthur Lee Warner and India Comer Warner. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Johnston; and one brother, Jimmy Warner. Mr. Warner was a World War II Army Veteran, member of the Eggleston United Methodist Church, a former member of Grace United Methodist Church in Bluefield, W.Va., member of Eggleston Masonic Lodge # 336, member to the Eastern Star, a member and former Chief of the Eggleston Fire Department, a retired train Engineer for N&W Railway for over 50 years and was very active in the Eggleston Community. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Rennie Nell King Warner, of Eggleston; two daughters, Joyce A. Warner Breeden and husband, Bill, of Marquette Heights, Ill., Lynda Sue Warner, of Abington, Va.; one son, James Frank Warner, of Pembroke; three sisters, Ruby Cruise and husband, Claude, of Bluefield, Va., Shirley Smith, of Princeton, W.Va., Doris Blankenship, of Peterstown, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Timmy, Randy, William and James Warner; and three greatgrandchildren, Samatha Christie, Megan Warner and Piper Warner; and one greatgreat-grandson, Adian Warner. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Paula Campbell officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home, Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. Military Honors will be given by American Legion Post #68 in Narrows, American Legion Post #311 in Pembroke and VFW Post #6000 in Narrows.
