James Monroe Warden, 94, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2010, at his home in Radford, Va. He was born on February 16, 1916, in Poplar Hill, Va., the son of Riley and Mary Stevens Warden.

He was a member of Morgan’s Chapel United Methodist Church and was employed at Lynchburg Foundry for 33 years.

He was married to Anniebell Lyons Warden who preceded him in death in 1998. He is survived by his children, Mary McCoy and husband, Vernon, of Radford, Jim Warden and wife, Pam, of Pearisburg, David Warden and wife, Michelle, of Lynchburg; his grandchildren, April and John Keehan, Wendy and Chuck Kilgore, Amy and Jeff Ferguson, Andy Warden, Sarah Warden, and Amanda Warden; his greatgrandchildren, Caleb and Joshua Kilgore; and countless friends and fellow farmers and the many others who called him Granddaddy.

Funeral Services will be held 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 28, 2010, at Morgan’s Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Darlene Marshall officiating. Burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visitation will be held on Sunday at the church from 1:30 to 3 p.m. prior to service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morgan’s Chapel Church. Arrangements by A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate, Va.
