Robert “Bob” C. Ward, age 69, of Greenville, S.C., who recently moved to Radford, Virginia, gained his wings on September 11th, 2021, while at home with his loving wife Sherry Ward. He was born in Knoxville,Tenn. Bob joined the Navy and was a machinist mate third class and served on the U.S.S. Dixie.

Bob is survived by his wife Sherry of 33 years; children, Lisa Wood, MaryAnn Ward, Brian Ward, Tammy Seaman, Bobby Reed, Jr., and Kevin Reed; sisters, Brenda Smith and Wilma Edens; and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Bob was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to everyone. He loved sports, especially racing and football, where his favorite teams were the Tennessee Volunteers and Chicago Bears. Bob was a dirt track racing enthusiast who enjoyed spending time at the track with his family and racing buddies. He worked as a machinist and supervisor but was forced to give up his career due to his health.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Margaret Ward and his son Donald Ward.

The family will receive friends from 9 until 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services for Bob will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will be private in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin at a later date.
