Ward, James Michael

James (Jim) Michael Ward, 74, of Blacksburg, died Monday, April 7, 2008, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was born in Blacksburg on August 8, 1933, to the late Laura Slusher Ward, also preceded in death by brother, Gary E. Ward; and great-nephew, Ryne Hailey.

He is survived by his cousins, Robert Stone, of Colorado, Joyce Stone, of New Hampshire, and Marshall Stone, of Christiansburg; nephews, nieces, and spouses, Henry Blake Ward and Chari, of Kernersville, N.C., Valerie York and Mike, of Colfax, N.C., Jonas Ward, of Chicago, Ill., and Gary Ward, of Kernersville, N.C.; and great-nieces and nephews, Jessica Ward, Charlotte Ward, Taylor York and Gretchen York.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2008, in the Westview Cemetery with the Pastor Dusty Etter officiating. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg.
