Ward, Dora Lee Kirby

Dora Lee Kirby Ward, age 101, of Pulaski, died Saturday morning, January 11, 2014 in a Bristol, Virginia nursing home. She was born on November 20, 1912 in Wythe County, Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Mettie Swimm Kirby and James Edward Kirby.

She was a retired LPN having worked at Pulaski General Hospital, and was a long-time member of the First Methodist Church in Pulaski.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Wesley Ward. She is survived by her two sons; John Kirby Ward and his wife Vicki, of Bristol, TN, and David Lee Ward and his wife Patsy, of Rock Hill, SC.; a sister, Virginia (Ginny) Hight of Salem. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home, with the Rev. Hugh Kilgore officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 12 Noon until service time of 1:00 p.m.
