Waltz Jr., James E.
James E. Waltz Jr., 84, of Elliston, died at his home with his family by his side on Sunday, May 11, 2008.
He was born June 27, 1924. Jim was a Veteran of World War II and served his country with two terms. Jim is survived by his wife, Mackie Long Waltz; son and daughter-in-law, James Allen and Angie Waltz, all of Elliston; stepson, Larry Quesenberry, of Dublin; stepgrandson, Charlie Quesenberry, of Radford; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Charlie Reese, of Georgia, and Faye and Larry Davison, of Roanoke; and Jim’s grandchildren, Angela Spitar, Greg Garman, Jason Davison, Mike Waltz and Amber Waltz. Mike and Amber were the love of his life. Jim is also survived by several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center, Carilion Hospice and his many neighbors that gave him excellent care. “Thanks to all of you.”
There will be a memorial service held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2008, at Halls United Methodist Church in Ironto. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Elliston Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 290, Elliston, Va. 24087 or The Shawsville Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 176, Shawsville, Va. 24162. The family is being served by The Horne Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Christiansburg, Va.
