Walters, Mildred Willard
Mildred Willard Walters, 88, of Riner, passed away Monday, February 27, 2006 in Skyline Manor Nursing Home in Floyd.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. Walters; one daughter, Virginia Whitlow; two brothers, Sam Willard and Henry Willard.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie Walters, Riner; George & Linda Walters, Riner; Nelson & Dottie Walters; Roger & Janie Walters, Radford; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Kirk, Scottsdale, AR; Joyce Epperly, Christiansburg; Mary Sue & Brandol West, Forsyth, IL; Arnold Whitlow; thirteen grandchildren, Wanda Sowers, Todd Walters, Eddie Walters, Howard Compton, Sandra Zalanka, Sharon Peniza, Raymond Epperly, Eric Epperly, Dorthea Braighton, Dwayne Walters, Byron Askew, Keith Askew and Mark Walters; two sisters, Reba Lawrence and Mary Lutz; several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and step grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2006 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Neal Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. The Walters family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg, (382-2612).
