Wallace, Mason

Mason Wallace, 69, of Christiansburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Mason attended New River Community College (NRCC) and then Virginia Tech. He worked at Virginia Tech in the Department of Geological Sciences and was retired Senior Electrical Engineer for IBM.

Mason was a born again Christian of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and archery.

Mason was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Georgia Wallace; and a grandson, Ryan David Wallace.

He is survived by his children, Jeff Wallace, Kim Ratcliff, and David Wallace and wife, Monica; grandchildren, Josh Linkous, Aaron Ratcliff, Danielle Alderman and husband, Bobby, Jacob Wallace and wife, Lindsay, Emilee Wallace, and Christian Wallace; a great-granddaughter, Laney Beth Alderman; a brother, Gene Wallace; and a sister, Patty France.

The family will receive friends at the Horne Funeral Home from 12:30-1:45 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2012, followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg, with Pastor Mike Vest officiating.
