Rev. James E. Walker, 94, of Radford, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. He went to meet his beloved Gaylord who passed away in April, 2018 and his daughter, Gloria Moore who passed in December 2018.

Jim was a member of West Radford Church of God and served his country in the U. S. Army during WWII. He was a minister with the Church of God and touched many lives with his ministry for over 60 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Joyce Smith; grandchildren, Chris and Stephanie Smith, Shelia Floyd, Randy and Matt Moore; 7 great grandchildren, two of which are Caelan Smith and Bailey Smith-Gardner; 5 great great grandchildren; special friends, Denver Gardner, Gary Shepheard, and Frankie Graham; and many other relatives and friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to all the people at the VA Hospital Hospice Unit in Salem for the loving care given to Jim during his stay.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2022, with Pastor Danny Newman and Rev. Kenneth Poston officiating.
