Viers, Margaret Owens

Margaret Louise Owens Viers, 73, of Radford, passed away at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center November 11, 2013. Margaret was born on July 12, 1941, to the late Dorothy and Lee Owens. She will be loved and missed by many in the community and surrounding areas. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Ernest Robert Viers Jr.; and two brothers, Eldon and Richard Owens. She is survived by three brothers, Freddie (Diana) Owens, Buddy (Peggy) Owens, and Ricky (Doris) Owens; and a sister, Shirley (Tommy) Weaver; two sons, Robert Lee Viers Sr. (Diane) and Roger Dale Viers. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. at DeVilbiss Funeral Home on Thursday, November 14, 2013, with a funeral service to directly follow at DeVilbiss Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Neal Woods officiating. Interment will follow at the Turpin Family Cemetery in Radford. In addition to flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Margaret’s honor to the Virginia Blue Ridge Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure , 4910 Valley View Blvd, Suite 212, Roanoke, VA 24012, or the Great Blue Ridge JDRG Chapter for Diabetes, 3959 Electric Road, #222, Roanoke, VA 24018.
