Viers III, William Emmett

William Emmett (Sonny) Viers III, 62, passed away at his home in Christiansburg, Va., on Tuesday, October 13, 2009. He was a United States Army veteran having served in Vietnam and retired from Lynchburg Foundry with 36 years service.

Survivors include two sons, Christopher H. Viers, of Radford, and William J. Viers, of Christiansburg; four grandchildren, Chris, Jayme, Sara and Shalynn Viers; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Donnie Lee and Rebecca Viers, of Waynesboro, Mitchell Dean and Kay Viers, of Radford, and Allen Wayne and Becky Viers, of Christiansburg; and best friend, Brenda Viers Bowman, of Christiansburg.

The family would like to thank Medi-Home Hospice for all their kindness.

A graveside memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2009, at the West View Cemetery in Radford with the Rev. Jim Walker officiating. VFW Post #776 will conduct Military Graveside Rites.
