Viers, Mamie Edith Boyd

Mamie Edith Boyd Viers, 81, of Radford, Va., passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2010. Born on August 10, 1928, she was preceded in death by her husband, James William Viers (Bill); her son, James Alan Viers (Jimmy); mother and father, Matthew Lee and Eulalia Bernett Boyd; granddaughter, Leslie Boyd Sniegon; brothers, Harless, Clarence, and Leonard Boyd; and sisters, Gladys Smith, Ruby Huff, Beatrice Atkinson, and Lena Simpson. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sherry Diane Viers Collins; sister and brother-inlaw, Hazel and Brown Bratton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of Radford Wesleyan Church and employed by Burlington Miles. She also enjoyed quilting at Radford Recreation Center and traveling. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2010, at DeVilbiss Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Barry Van Steenburg officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. Arrangements by DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford, Va.
