Viers, Donald Lee

Donald (Don) Lee Viers, 70, of Draper, passed away Monday morning, March 24, 2008, at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.

He was born on September 13, 1937, in Draper, Va., the son of the late Robert Lee and Eula C. Viers. He was a member of the Memorial Christian Church in Draper and retired from Xaloy Inc. in Pulaski.

Don was preceded into Heaven by his loving wife, Peggy D. Moore Viers; a brother, James R. Viers; and a sister, Alice Viers Rogers. Surviving are his three sons and daughters-in-law, Pierce L. and Jennifer H. Viers, Pulaski, R. Wayne and Angela P. Viers, Wythe County, and Robert D. and Laurie L. Viers, Huntsville, Ala.; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Don and Opal V. McCambridge, Hiwassee, Doug and Helen V. Hylton, Draper, James and Edith V. Thomas, Dublin, and James and Mildred V. Smith, Bedford; a brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Betty Viers, Draper; a brother-in-law, Donald (Pete) Rogers and wife, Treva Rogers, Pulaski; and three sisters-in-law, Patricia (Pat) Viers, Dublin, Linda Aliff and husband, Johnny Aliff, Salem, and Pat Conners and husband, Sonny Conners, Salem; six grandchildren, James (Jamie) Viers, Chester, Va., Anthony (Tony) Viers, Pulaski, Olivia and Adam Viers, Wythe County, and Beth and Matthew (Matt) Viers, Huntsville, Ala.; special friend, Junior Hylton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008, from the Memorial Christian Church, Draper, with the Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visiting will be Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials be made to the Memorial Christian Church, Draper, Va.
