Viars, Mary Elizabeth Abbott

Mary Elizabeth Abbott Viars, 83, of Radford, Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 29, 2010. She was an active member of First Baptist Church for 38 years. Survivors include a loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Lewis Edward Viars; son and daughter-in-law Tony and Sharon Viars, of Radford; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Ernie Baker, of Natural Bridge; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Doris Abbott, of Bedford; four grandsons, Brandon Viars, of Knoxville, Tenn., Justin Viars, of Richmond, Ky., Allan Blevins, of Florida, and Daniel Blevins, of Natural Bridge; and four great-grandchildren, Gabby Blevins, Jacob Blevins, Dillon Blevins and William Blevins. A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 31, 2010, at First Baptist Church in Radford with the Rev. Paul Lane officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to the First Baptist Church Endowment Fund, 215 Third Avenue, Radford, Va. 24141. The family also would like to thank family, friends, neighbors, church members, doctors and her nurses for all their support over the past three years.
