Vest, Sade Mustard
Sadie Mustard Vest, 99, of the White Gate community, Pearisburg went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 from the Highland Ridge Rehab Center, Dublin.
She was born at Berton, Va. on September 10, 1908 the daughter of the late Joshua W. and Elizabeth Rebecca Bish Mustard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Sheffey Vest, a granddaughter, Brenda V. Horn, a great-grandson, Bradley Perdue; four brothers, Leonard, James, Woodrow, Clinton Mustard: two sisters, Mamie Stafford and Elsie Wiley, and was the last surviving member of her family.
She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Women for many years.
She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Nelson and Pauline Vest, Louis and Deborah Vest, Carl Vest and Jimmie Vest of White Gate; two daughters and sons-in-law, Maydell and Wayne McPeak, White Gate; Ann and Roger Sutphin, Christiansburg; one sister-in-law, Rebecca Vest, Bedford; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and seven stepgreatgrandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate with the Rev. Danny Shortridge, the Rev. Kim Goddard and Rev. Sharon W. Wright officiating. Burial in the Stinson Cemetery, White Gate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday after 1 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m.
