Vest, Frank Alton

Frank Alton Vest, 84, of Floyd, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, James Clarence and Nina Burgess Vest; and brothers, Marvin Harless Vest and Freddie Lee and wife, Shelby Vest. Alton is survived by his wife of 59 years, Christene Thomas Vest; sons, Marvin Darrell Vest (Glenna), Rick Alton Vest (Teresa), James Vernon Vest, and Timothy Clark Vest; grandchildren, Mandie Bishop (Travis), Justin Vest (Iris), Ricky Alton Vest Jr. (Meredith), Tony Vest, and Lance Vest; great-grandchildren, Charity Bishop, Addison Vest, Garrett Alton Vest, Ella Bishop; sisters, Ina Wood (Herbert), Lorine Huff (David), Claudine Haynes (Don); sister-in-law, Ruby Vest; and several special nieces and nephews. Alton was a long time member of Topeco Church of the Brethren. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice of Salem for their caring support over the past few months. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2012, at Topeco Church of the Brethren, officiated by the Rev. Mike Varner, and grandson/Youth Pastor Ricky Vest Jr. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Topeco Cemetery.
