Vest, Elizabeth Martin

Elizabeth Blondine Martin Vest, 86, of Pilot, Va., passed away Friday, March 9, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Pierce Vest; and her siblings, J.T. Martin, Leroy Martin, Edmond Martin, Ervin Lewis, Betty Lou Carr and Mary Ann Martin. Mrs. Vest was a member of Haven’s Chapel Church.

She is survived by two sons and daughters in-law, James and Glenna Vest, and Kevin and Regina Vest, of Check, Va.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Gerald Smith and Kathy and Dale Lawrence, of Pilot, Lois and Stephen Baker, of Roanoke, Va., and Sandra and Eddie Songer, of Georgia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lena and Archie McAlexander, Chlorine Clower, Ocie and Dalton Thompson, Earnestine Nichols, Donna and Junior King and Eloise and Wayne Gearheart; brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon and Sandra Martin, and Earnest and Connie Martin; ten grandchildren; six step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2007, at Gardner Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Walker and the Rev. Shake Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. on Sunday at Gardner Funeral Home where the family will be from 6 until 8 p.m.
