Vest, Alvin Lewis

Alvin Lewis Vest, 81, of Copper Hill, VA, departed this life Wednesday evening, January 2, 2019. He was born in Floyd County, VA. on August 12, 1937, a son of the late Brethard and Susie Collins Vest. Alvin retired from Rowe Furniture Corporation in 1999 after 44 years of service. He enjoyed farming and tending to his cattle during retirement. He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Mae Vest, daughter: Donna (Jimmie) Minnix, sons, Wendell Vest, and Alvin Rena Vest. Also surviving are sister in laws: Erma Jean Vest and Dolly Vest. Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Gardner Funeral home at 3pm with Elder Junior Conner officiating. Interment will follow in Restvale cemetery. Friends may call at Gardner Funeral Home after 2pm Friday January 4, 2019 where the family will be from 2-4 and 6-8.
