Eric (Sambo) Venth, 45, of Riner, died Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at Grand Strand Hospital, in Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was born in New York on November 2, 1960 to the late Paul Everett and Dorothy Muriel Nielsen Venth. He was also preceded in death by a son, Kevin Michael Venth; and sister, Vivian Venth.
He is survived by his wife, Jette Venth of Riner; two sons, Howie Venth of Riner, Billy Venth of Riner; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Paulette and Jim Leslie of New York, Cecelia and Jack Mancini of New York; three brothers and sister-in-law, Pete Venth of New York, Paul Venth and fiance, Linda of Christiansburg, Christopher and Donna Venth of New York; and also many, many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 27, 2006 at 8 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be Sunday at 11 a.m. in the Venth Family Cemetery, Riner with the funeral procession from McCoy Funeral Home at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad Riner Station, P.O. Box 176, Christiansburg, Va. 24073. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg.
