He fell in love with the NRV when he passed through 37 years ago and never left. He loved to explore the mountains, trails and rivers with his family. Harry was an avid golfer and shared his love for golf by teaching Laura to play. They enjoyed golfing together.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Laura and Terri wish to express deep appreciation for the many kind expressions, prayers, visits, texts, gifts, meals, flowers and virtual hugs from our dear family, friends, co-workers and neighbors. Each and every act of love shall be remembered and cherished in our hearts and will sustain us in the coming days. We also wish to express our special thanks to my sister Mary Lucia, and friends Lori Burton, Michelle Foggy, Stephanie Smith, Servando and Maritza Cervantes who were with us during his final days.

We also want to express a very special thanks to Carilion Hospice NRV. There are no words to describe our gratitude for all the care and compassion shown to us by all of Harry’s care team at Carilion Hospice NRV. The excellent care and comfort each team member provided to Harry and myself allowed him to remain in his home. Harry’s passing was one of love and peace. We thank you for making this last memory of Harry of one of dignity and grace.
