Vaughan, Hazel Rorrer

Hazel Rorrer Vaughan, 88, of Pulaski, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, in the Highland Ridge Rehab Center, Dublin, Va. She was born on September 17, 1922, in Pulaski County and was the daughter of the late Charles and Martha Elizabeth Rorrer.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Vaughan; a son, Thomas Ellis Vaughan; a daughter, Alyne V. Surratt; by two grandsons, Tommy Vaughan and Anthony Vaughan; seven brothers; and five sisters.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Charlie King; son and daughter-in-law, Fredric “Sonny” and Wanda Vaughan; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 12 greatgreat-grandchildren; two brothers; and one sister.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2010, from the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski, Va. Interment will follow in the Thornspring Cemetery. Visiting will be held Friday evening, November 19, 2010, at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.

The family would like to say a special “thank you” to the staff at Highland Ridge Rehab Center for the care they provided to our mother and grandmother. Their kindness and compassion during this time has been a blessing.
