kinkade-living-watersGeorges, Carrie Varlas, age 95, of Richmond died, Friday, March 28, 2014, in Blacksburg, Va. She was born in Moundsville, WV. on July 24, 1918 to the late Nicholas and Helen Sarris Varlas. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Theodore Georges, three brothers and a sister. She was an longtime active member of St. Constatine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral until her relocation to Blacksburg. She is survived by her, daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn G. and M. Earl Tanner, of Blacksburg, son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Julie Georges, of Catawba, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one sister, two brothers, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 11:00am in the St. Constatine and Helen Greek Orthodox Catherdral 30 Malvern Ave. Richmond, Va. 24221 with the father Nick Bacalis officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30-1100am Wednesday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Constatine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Malvern Ave. Richmond, Va. 24221 or Carilion Clinic Hospice, 701 Randolph St. Suite 110, Radford, Va. 24141.
