vanhoozier_edward_earlEdward Earl Vanhoozier, 62, of Riner, died on Thursday, August 18, 2011, at his home. He was born on November 16, 1948, to the late Edward Lee and Katherine Bowers Vanhoozier. Eddie attended Radford Worship Center, and was also a veteran of the United States Army. Eddie was known for his cooking and generosity that he shared with his neighbors and friends. He is survived by his wife, Janice Smith Vanhoozier, of Riner; two daughters and sons-in-law, April and Wes Lavelle, of Christiansburg, and Amy and David Kellogg, of Floyd; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty and Tuck Barlow, of Roanoke, and Helen Moses, of Christiansburg; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Connie Vanhoozier, of Christiansburg, James “Butch” and Linda Vanhoozier, of Radford, David Vanhoozier, of Christiansburg, and Michael and Melissa Vanhoozier, of Newport; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2011, in the Radford Worship Center, 1820 2nd Street, Radford, Va., with Pastor Hal Adams, Jason Greene, and Ted Farmer officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery, Norris Run, Va. Friends may call anytime on Saturday, August 20, 2011, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
