Jean Ferguson Clark Van Dyke, age 69, of Christiansburg, Va passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017. She was born in Radford, Va April 24, 1948 to Paul & Evelyn (Hammond) Clark. She was an Alumni of Radford University, a published poet and author, a musician, an artist, a loving wife, and a caring mother. She worked in her youth as a journalist and photographer then for the federal government for the remainder of her career with her final post being at the NROTC at Virginia Tech. She is preceded in death by her best friend and husband, Ronald Andrew Van Dyke. She is survived by her youngest son Darren Glenn Van Dyke; and eldest son Randall Paul Van Dyke; daughter in law Sherry K. Trout-Van Dyke; grandson Andrew James Van Dyke; and granddaughter Evelyn Elizabeth Van Dyke, all of Christiansburg, Va. She also leaves behind two sisters: Ann Clark of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Carol Sheeler of Asheville, NC; brother in law James Sheeler of Asheville, NC; Sister in law Christine Myer of Fort Myer, FL; brother in law Ed Van Dyke of Sunbury, OH; brother in law Douglas Van Dyke; along with many nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

Services will be held at Horne Funeral home Tuesday, May 2,2017 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Randall P. Van Dyke officiating. Internment to be held at Veterans Cemetry in Dublin, Va. Visitation will be held at Horne Funeral home on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 6p.m. to 8p.m.
