Valach, Blanche Large

Blanche Large Valach, age 72 of Hiwassee, died Friday morning, June 22, 2012 at her residence. She was born on September 21, 1939 in Abingdon, and was the daughter of the late Lillie Gobble Large and Charlie Milton Large. Mrs. Valach was a long-time member of the Newbern Community Christian Church, and was a retired employee of the Radford Army Ammunition Plant with over 30 years of service. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, George Michael Valach; one son, James Michael Valach, Sr. and his wife Sharon of McHenry, MD; one brother, James Large of Huntingtown, MD; and one grandson, James Michael Valach, Jr. and his wife Tracey and their daughter Ahna Valach of Snowshoe, WV; three aunts, Jettie Large of Princeton, WV, Ivy Large of Sarasota, FL, and Belle Noe of Donna Vista, FL. A celebration of Blanche’s life will be held Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Newbern Community Christian Church with the Rev. Ernie Depew and the Rev. Jeff Curtis officiating. A farewell service will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Forrest Hills Memorial Gardens in Abingdon. The family will receive friends Saturday at the church from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. before the service.
