Umbarger, Zeb Vance

Zeb Vance (Pete) Umbarger, 90, of Radford, died Sunday, July 6, 2008, in the Virginia Veterans Care Center, Salem. He was a Veteran of World War II and The Korean Conflict, with 32 years of military service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Pillars Umbarger. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Bill Bain and Barbara and David L. Van Sutphin, all of Salem; a special friend, Stella Maynard, of Radford; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren also survive.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Highland Memory Gardens. VFW Post #776 will conduct Military Graveside Honors. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford, Va.
