turpin richard bentleyRichard Bentley Turpin, 76, of Radford, went home with the angels Thursday, October 3, 2013. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and brother. He worked for years at the Lynchburg Foundry and remained at what has now become New River Castings until he left work after over 30 years. Left to cherish his memory are his sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Rhonda Turpin and Roger and Kelly Turpin; his brother, Johnny Turpin; a sister-in-law, Linda Franklin; six grandchildren (including his special grandson, Brian Turpin); two stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. As per Richard’s wishes, there will be no visitation and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made in Richard’s honor to DeVilbiss Funeral Home, 1200 Grove Avenue Radford, VA 24141, to offset funeral expenses. DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford, is in charge of arrangements.
